As chairman of the organizing committee of the 10th International Symposium on Landslides and Engineered Slopes, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you in joining us for one of the most significant event in our landslide research and slope engineering community - the international landslide conference that has been successfully run for 36 years. In order to make the symposium one of the most successful conferences in its history, I need your generous help, brilliant ideas and active involvement.

I know the important aspects that make a successful conference - the large number of participants, good themes and contributors, excellent keynote lectures, well organized conference programs, etc. However all of them will not be arranged effectively unless your participations are involved. So,
